| In the
UK, Andrew Baynes is in the forefront of professional sand sculpture, entertaining
tens of thousands of people each year with his unique brand of live art
sand installations. Throughout a performance, a sculpture will slowly emerge
before the audience’s very eyes. The artist is both approachable and
communicative with anyone inspired enough to reach out and gain a greater
understanding of the work, or the art form.
With 70 plus commissions over the past eleven years, clients have included: Disney; the BBC; Granada TV; British Airways; Lee Jeans; The Royal Festival Hall; Bloomberg; The National Theatre; Selfridges & Co; The Sunday Observer Magazine; Canary Wharf and many other festivals, galleries and venues throughout the UK and Europe. In television, his work has contributed to a BAFTA & RTS nomination, and a Welsh BAFTA award. He has also been featured on Blue Peter and many other arts programmes and TV news.
