MPEG Mediator is a free and easy to use MPEG-Video stream converter released under the GNU General Public License.

This excellent little front end GUI accepts MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video streams placed within .DAT, .VOB and .MPG containers including their related audio sub-streams, such as: AC-3, MP2 and LPCM. Transport Streams (ie: .TS, .MTS, .M2TS etc) are not supported.

Once your preferred (VfW) encoders have been installed (ie: DivX, Xvid, WMV9-VCM, VP6, x264, etc) MPEG Mediator will allow you to generate 'highly compressed' encodes from the affore mentioned sources.
