The McElroy Bros Ceili Band

The McELROY Band is comprised of ace accordionist Sean Quinn and star drummer Seamus McCullough with brothers Dan & Gus McElroy, accordion and fiddle.
Longtime musical cohorts, their forays trace back to the dawn of popular ceili and set dancing in Ulster

In 1993, the McElroys began working on new material specifically to cater for the Northern Sets scene.

Their music teamwork debuted at Kilcoo Co. Down and subsequently at the major sets venue of Hilltown, both locations subsequently featuring in their popular Sets Ceili musicassettes.

Performing with electronic bass augmented by a live percussionist, the band developed their eccentric ceili style at many other local halls.

In 1997 at the sun-soaked Ulster Fleadh Cheoil in Castlewellan, McElroys not only dazzled the audience at the afternoon open-air concert in the village square, but also wowed the dancers at the major set-dance ceili event on the Saturday night, obtaining an instant re-engagement for the following year.

McElroys music tapes Sets Ceili and Sets Ceili 2 are distributed by mail order though Glens Music of 86 Knocknacarry Road, CUSHENDUN, Co. Antrim BT44 0NS and by the band at thier ceilis.

The band works extensively with sets caller Joseph Farrell of Hilltown Co. Down who appears with them on their two cassettes.
