The McCains are a family group from Mississippi, with North Antrim Irish connections, who play a mix of American string band and Irish traditional music and songs. Featuring Donovan McCain on mandolin, guitar and vocals and backed by Barra McCain on guitar, with guest tracks form other musicians, this album is a showpiece for Donovan's virtuoso mandolin playing and songwriting as well as including some popular Irish, Scottish and American tunes and songs. The McCain's have travelled widely in Ireland and one track (Over the Mountain) was recorded in the Glens Music studio at Cushendun, with Sean Quinn backing on accordion. Recorded 2005.
