Early in the development I thought it would be great as airline give away.
However, with cutbacks on flights they tend not to have give away packs of cards anymore.
To tie in with the travel theme, the backs of the cards contained a time zone convertor and a currency convertor
To calculate time zones, slide one over the other, then it is possible to read the time in other zones by reading 'across' the cards
The example below shows compares time in UK with the time in New York
To calculate currency conversions, slide one over the other, then it is possible to read the conversion using the cards as a slide rule.
The example below shows a conversion rate of 1.5.
The box for this had instructions on how to use the cards
The problem here was that nobody today knows how to read a slide rule, and time zone conversion was thought so easy that why
have a tool to help you?
In the end the idea was thought too complex and the backs of the cards changed to simple patterns. This also made the cards easier to make
since there is no need for accurate front/back printing registration.
