I've bored everyone I know with this over the last too many years, I've failed to get any commercial interest (well, I haven;'t tried very hard either).
So, maybe by publishing this on the net I could always claim prior art - or what ever is it
It all started on a holiday in France and a discussion about scoring in Poker, does 4 of a kind beat a Full House?
From that innocent comment the idea of a pack of cards that had the scoring and rules for card games printed on them.
An ideal companion for campers, backpackers, anyone heading away on holiday. They could be sold in airports, campsites
almost anywhere - I see them to be mass market, as opposed to Innovation catalogue novelty items.
After several iterations and prototype packs I think the current version is as close to a final version as I'm likely to get.
The rules are not meant as definitive, in some cases they are open to interpretation. The point of a game is to have fun, not follow International Gaming Convention Rules (and for most of these games there are several 'local' varients so there is no definitive set of rules anyway), if you get more enjoyment by modifying the rules - then modify them!
Some of the little touches that make this complete package are:
- Games needing score cards are clearly marked
- Games that do not require the rule card for play are clearly marked
- The Aces are index cards
- Each suit represents a different class of card game, eg diamonds are solo games
- The jokers contains card tricks
