This trip is to Malaysia, or more specifically Borneo.
Quick facts about Borneo, it is the third largest island in the world, straddles the equator with the north half Malaysian (except for a little bit in the middle for Brunei), and the south is Indonesian. The Malaysian part of Borneo has 2 states, Sarawak in the west (capital is Kuching, my base for he first week), and Sabah in the east (capital is Kota Kinabalu, my base for the second week).

The aim is to see wild proboscis monkeys and if I'm lucky wild orangutans - and have a good time.

Another holiday, another record of thoughts and observations.

These are a fairly faithful record of events, exciting, boring, depressing and enlightening (perhaps even misleading) - as they happened. with some piccies inserted from the digital cameras (which are all clickable to large images),

At the time I was there the exchange rates very roughly 6.9 Ringgit to the pound

On this trip the GPS was used to mark locations, use in the rainforest was impossible due to the dense tree cover and very poor signal.
However, it was good for some specific routes on rivers.

The camera worked well again, but the extreme photography, fleeting glimpses, low light started to show the short-comings.
I think a monopod camera stand, maybe monopod/walking stick will be required before the next trip.
