Notes: The long-awaited CD reissue of the sought-after 1978 Lanky Spoken Here LP - finally here at the second attempt! After a "bit of a cock-up on the mastering front" (to quote an EMI spokesman), EMI have finally decided to reissue the original album without any changes. A shame there aren't any of the promised extras, but at least we've got the original Lanky speech in all its glory. (For them as don't know, EMI had announced that the original LP would be reissued on CD with extra tracks. In the event, they did include extra material from Fivepenny Piece and Bernard Wrigley - but in the process, almost unbelievably, all the spoken material was discarded, thus completely defeating the object of this record! I've been assured by the aforementioned EMI spokesman that the producer responsible for the fiasco has been "severely disciplined" and is now reduced to sweeping the editing room floor. A spokesman for the Atherton branch of EMI added "Yon egg-wap favvers a one-legged man at an a**e-kickin' contest". You can see the details of the original CD reissue here.)

Collectors note: The catalogue number and cover of the new CD look identical to the first reissue without the spoken parts, so you may have trouble telling them apart. Luckily, the track listing on the back and on the printed insert have been updated. If you have one of the original copies, it might be worth a fortune in years to come! And Fivepenny Piece completists will probably want both copies anyway.
