What is it?

Well Its all about my family. The ones that are gone, but not forgotten, and the ones that until recently I knew nothing about.
Thanks to the wonders of the WWW  I've managed to trace my family line back to the mid 1700's.

This is still very early in its development.I hope to a fair few photographs up eventually, along with small biographies of some of my ancestors.

War time

Like most families the Taceys and the Spalls have
taken the kings shilling. My Grandad George Tacey was a regular soldier before WW2 and saw action in India and Egypt. My Grandad Shell fought in europe as part of the relief column in Operation Market Garden and on the flanks of the American collapse in the Battle of the Bulge.
His father,Amos Spall, several destroyers of the Royal Navy from 1906 through to 1916.

But what is extremely unusual is that on neither side of my family was anyone killed in both of the two world wars.

We've always made jokes about the Tacey Luck, but it looks as if it isn't so bad afterall

Unusal names

The name Edward crops up a fair bit in the Tacey line.As does the less common name of Green.

Williamson also crops up twice. This isn't quite so unusual as it at first seems,as years ago it was quite common to use a mothers maiden name as the christian name for one of the children. Hence, when Margret Williamson married a Tacey one of her sons was christened Williamson Tacey
