Past News
LRA were pleased to find out we'd been nominated for an Indy Music Award.
Even though our mantlepiece was already bulging with prestigious accolades we always felt there was room for one more. Unfortunately there must have been some sort of technical hitch with the website or our legion of fans cookies or something, because we did not appear to win one.
However, hip hip hooray, we did win 'BEST INTERNATIONAL ACT 2008' at the Fudge Awards in Aberdeen. Shucks, what that means to a young band like us cannot be put into words. We played at the awards too, and Fudge are adamant they didn't even have to fix it so we would win. This prestigious accolade sits proudly in the cupboard under the sink, along with our Breville Sandwich Toaster, Soda Stream and
Bobcat Goldwait.
Single Release - Poison Letter We released our 2nd single from 'So For Your Thrills...' on Monday the 11th June. It's available from all good download stores and, as per 'Wound Up', there shall be strictly limited edition vinyl available to buy from us at our shows.
The Album and UK Tour
We did a UK tour in support of the album in the first half of May, with a great band from Brighton called 'Actress Hands'. You should check them out, they're currently in our friends on our Myspace page. Much fun was had, and a special thanks to AIG for providing us with a fantastic van to take us round our English dates at the last minute. Two thumbs up! Like everyone else in the universe, they have a Myspace page, the url is http://www.myspace.com/aigsplitterhire. Seek them out if you require their services.
