Welcome to my rope access site.
This site contain mostly pictures of rope access technicians I've met and technicians carrying out various rope access tasks .
For the benefit of people who never been here before, here's a little about myself.
Name: Scott Heyden
Since leaving school I've worked as an electrician, in 1996 I started working in the Rope Access Industry, the following year I started working offshore.
When I'm not stuck offshore my main interest is Potholing in the Yorkshire Dales.
A little about Industrial Rope Access.
As the name suggests rope access involves using ropes to gain access and carry work in areas which would otherwise require the use of Scaffolding or powered access platforms.
The techniques used are hybrids of the SRT (Singe Rope Technique) system used by cavers and potholers for many years.
Once the work site has been accessed a whole range of job's can be carried out such as painting, inspection, construction and electrical work.
