Derby County

Once again Derby County as are all the other Clubs very short of Referees for their Academy matches which are generally on a Sunday morning. The set up is excellent and the matches are “ Hassle Free “ unless you cause the hassle yourself. If you do think that you have a spare Sunday and could help the Rams with their youth matches then please contact Bob McClumpha on 01530 451682 or Dave Buckett on 01530 414601 and we will get you a game arranged.

Training

Nice to see Doug Wilson back at the September Branch meeting after an absence of some months. Doug and Branch President Ray Gould are teaming up to train new referees and it is looking good as they have over twenty enrolled thus far. Keep up the good work chaps.

It is planned for our newly qualified Referees Instructor Ray Gould to run a Referees Training Course. The venue will be the OLD POST CENTRE in Newhall Derbyshire. The dates are from Thursday 14th November, breaking for Christmas on December 12th then resuming 9th January until February 6th 2003. The course will be from 7pm until 9pm throughout this period. Ray has already got 8 people interested in attending. The courses these days are two tiered the full course to be able to referee is 10 weeks, the course to learn the laws of the game is 5 weeks. These courses are our future members. The Old Post Centre is a central location being located in Newhall Derbyshire opposite the Freehold Tavern. Car parking is available to the rear of the building.
