Weight Conversion
For all those who have found it difficult to change over from Imperial to Metric I have devised a table which will convert both ways.
How to use the table
Lets take converting lbs/oz to kilo/grams
We are going to convert 10lbs 3½oz to Kilo/Grams
Using your mouse place it in the greyish blue box under lbs left click the mouse a blue border will appear, using your numeric keys enter the quantity 10 ( If you make a mistake use the backspace key )
Take the mouse to the ENTER box and left click the mouse, we should have the 4536 in the Total Grams box and 4.536 in the Kilo box. You will now have to put in the ozs, place the mouse in the greyish blue box under ozs left click the mouse a blue border will appear. Because we are using fractions in the ounces we must enter in this case 0.5 as this represents ½ oz, so we would enter 3.5. Move the mouse to the ENTER box and left click the mouse.
In the Total Grams box will now be our finished conversion in Grams ( 4635.225 ), and in the Kilo box will be the total in Kgs ( 4.635 ) you may want to ignore the 225 at the end.
NOTE: Use the following (¼ = 0.25 ), ( ½ = 0.5 ), ( ¾ = 0.75 )
Lets convert our answer back to lbs/ozs
Do the same as above but use the right hand side of the table instead
To make the conversion as accurate as possible when you enter the Grams put the figures in including the ones after the decimal point if you have them.
Lets take for example, if we enter 4 Kilo's, 635g then will will get a conversion that would be 10lbs 3.49ozs ( try it and see ) who's going to split hairs over that small amount so we would say it was 10lbs 3.5ozs. If you were to use all the grams we would now enter 4 Kilo's 635.225g as our example shows below and the conversion comes up with 10lbs 3.5ozs
Please remember this can be as accurate as you want it or just to give you a rough guide
