RULES OF THE CLUB
Section 2 Membership
2.1 The following categories of membership shall prevail:
Full 18 to 64 years
Associate 18 to 64 years
Junior 8 up to 18 years
Full OAP (Male & Female) 65+ years
Associate OAP (Male & Female) 65+ years
(All Juniors, 8 to 18 years with a parent/guardian holding full membership are entitled to full Junior membership FREE).
2.2 Candidates for election must be proposed and seconded by two adult members, one of whom must be a committee member. Such candidates must sign the Membership Application Form, which states "I hereby agree, if elected, become a member of the said club and be bound by the rules, Regulations and Bye-Laws for the time being of the club". The appropriate entrance fee must be paid.
2.3 Candidate's application forms shall be posted on the club notice board for 21 days. The Committee having been notified that the 21 days have expired will consider the application(s) at their meeting. Any club member having objection(s) to any applicant(s) should advise the Secretary in writing prior to that Committee meeting.
2.4 President - The President shall be nominated by the Committee and shall be an Honorary position with no voting rights.
2.5 Vice President(s) - The Vice - President(s) shall be nominated by the Committee (maximum of two if considered desirable) and shall be elected at a General Meeting. Vice - President(s) post(s) shall be Honorary position(s) and shall have no voting rights'
2.6 Life - Life member shall be nominated by the committee and endorsed by a General Meeting. Life members shall be limited to 5 members only at any one time. Life members shall be entitled to all club privileges including a free boat berth.
2.7 Associate - Associate members may be elected at the Committee's discretion. Associate members will be limited to 36 members or 20% of the membership whichever is the lower. Commercial fisherman or persons whom fish with rod andlline for profit or use gilnets in the pursuit of profit may only hold associate membership. Such members will have no voting rights nor may they compete for Club Trophies or prizes (other than those allocated for Associated members) or hold a boat berth or display any club emblem other than Associated badge.
2.8 Honorary Members - Honorary members can be elected by the Committee in appreciation for meritous service rendered to the club and shall be entitled to all privileges of the club except voting rights. Honorary members shall be for life and Honorary members will not be required to pay any subscription or boat berth fees.
At no time shall there be more than 12 Honorary members. Honorary members shall not be eligible to stand for Officer/Committee posts.
2.9 The Hon Secretary and Assistant Hon Secretary shall have the power to enter visiting members of other Sea Angling Societies as Temporary members at the rate of £1.00 subscription. Application forms shall be posted on the club notice board at least two days before the Temporary membership shall take effect. Temporary membership shall be subjected to such special regulations as the Committee may from time to time make regarding Temporary members
