RULES OF THE CLUB
Section 11 Committee
11.1 The Committee shall meet at least once a month for general business and not less than one third of the total number of the Committee shall form a quorum.
11.2 The Committee shall control the management of the club and shall have full power to superintend and conduct the business of the club according to the rules therof and shall in all things act for and in the name of the club. It shall have the power to purchase such articles and do all things it may deem necessary for the carrying out the object of the club.
11.3 When the club intends any expenditure in excess of £1000, except for normal running costs, the Committee shall apply the following rules:
11.3.1 Specific details of what is required are to be set out in writing before tenders are invited and put on the notice board.
11.3.2 A minimum of three external quotes must be sought.
11.3.3 The above tenders must be confidential and must be sent in sealed envelopes marked 'tender' to the club Secretary.
11.3.4 The club Secretary will open tenders during the next full Committee meeting.
11.3.5 The tenders should then be posted on the notice board for two weeks.
11.3.6 The final decision must be taken by the full Committee.
11.4 Nothing in the rules shall enable the Committee to declare any dividend or make any monetary grants to members or apply the club funds except for the purpose of the club itself and the purpose specified in the rules.
11.5 No resolution of the Committee shall be rescinded unless notice to rescind has been given at the previous Committee meeting and posted on the club notice board.
11.6 Any Committee member not attending for three consecutive meetings including all General Meetings, shall unless he/she sends an explanation which the Committee consider satisfactory, cease to be a Committee member. If any Committee member, being removed from his/her office, refuses or neglects to assign or transfer any property of the club as\a General Meeting may direct, such Committee member (if he/she be a member) shall be expelled, and cease to have any claim on the club without prejudice to any liability to prosecution.
11.7 In the event of the resignation or removal of the whole or majority of the Committee, then the whole of the Committee must be re-elected. The Trustees shall obtain nominations and appoint scrutineers and arrange for holding a ballot. A minimum of seven days shall be allowed for the nominations and a further minimum of seven days for completed ballot papers to be returned to the scrutineers who shall declare the results of the ballot by notice sent to all members.
