How soon can I begin taking pregnancy yoga classes?
Women are welcome to join the class at 16 weeks of pregnancy. The more you practice and the earlier you practice pregnancy yoga, the greater are the benefits that
you will enjoy. Women who have joined at 32 weeks into their pregnancies have also derived many benefits from pregnancy yoga.

I have never done yoga before. Do I need to have some experience before I participate in pregnancy yoga classes?
The gentle yoga postures in the Birthconnections pregnancy yoga classes are appropriate for all fitness levels and require no experience. In fact, pregnancy is a wonderful time to explore the benefits of yoga.

How long can I continue taking pregnancy yoga?
Most women continue attending the class up to their delivery dates. However, it is always important to listen to your body.

What if my due date is in the middle of the 8 week block?
At the end of your pregnancy you are welcome to continue attending on a drop-in basis until your actual delivery date.

What should I wear?
Wear clothing that is easy to move in, comfortable trouser, leggings, t-shirts, vest top, etc. You will be practising yoga in your bare feet but bring some socks with you for the beginning and end of the class.

What do I need to bring?
Please bring your own yoga mat. In addition, you're welcome to bring a cushion and blanket, they can be helpful to support the body and the blanket provides comfort and warmth during relaxation session. Please feel free to bring a water bottle into class with you. It's important to stay hydrated during pregnancy and especially during pregnancy yoga. Unlike any other yoga class it is important to eat lightly before you attend.

How does pregnancy yoga differ from a regular class?
There are certain yoga poses that you cannot do while pregnant. In a regular class, you would either sit those poses out or be offered an alternative pose, depending on the instructor. Sometimes that gets tedious for a pregnant woman.

In a YogaBirth class, we don't do any poses that are unsafe for pregnant women and we do a lot of poses, movement and breathing awareness that actually aid in preparing your body for giving birth. In our pregnancy yoga classes, we also have time at the end of each class for shared discussion and childbirth education.

Oh No! The class is full. What are my options?
Current clients always have priority in my classes. First, I have to see how many are signing up for the next block of classes before I see how many spaces I have open for new clients. To make sure you get the next available space, join my Announcement List. Once I confirm a space is available, please register immediately. My classes usually fill up within one week.

I have more questions.
Please feel free to email or call any time. I will always return your contact as possible.
