Sandiacre Town 2 V Pelican 1 (League) 04/05/04
Sandiacre clinched fourth spot drawing with the only other team that could have claimed the position.
The game was being played at a very slow pace and didn't come alive until just before the half hour when Harvey had to save from Boulton.
Daykin had a great chance for pelican but from a well floated cross he directed his header wide of Harvey’s goal.
Sandiacre took the lead 2 mins before half time Sandiacre tried to thread the ball through the defense of Pelican but Littlewood managed to break the attack down but his clearance fell to Booth who slotted the ball into the back of the net.
H/t 1-0
Potter battled hard to win the ball and he then feed Ghislanzoni but he blazed his shot narrowly wide.
Harvey was to produce a couple of fine saves to keep the score line at 1-0 until his team mates doubled the advantage on 70 Brady challenged for a ball in the penalty box and failed to win but the linesman then raised his flag and called the referee over after some discussion the referee pointed to the penalty spot. Ghislanzoni gratefully tucked the ball into the back of the net.
Six mins later it should have been 3 Aldred beat the offside trap and then cut inside but was unable to beat Barker in the Pelican net.
The last 10 mins saw Pelican turn the game around a good interchange of passes down the resulted in the ball being pulled back for Hinton to fire past Harvey.
And the game was complete on 88mins, Ball clinched the draw with a low strike from the edge of the box.

Sandiacre Town 3 V Blackwell M W 1 (League) 29/04/04
Sandiacre had once again come back from behind to record a valuable win that looks to have sent Blackwell down.
Blackwell started very brightly and deserved to take the lead, a Haslam cross took a slight deflection off Booth but enough to guide it into the path of Jepson, his powerful header gave Harvey no chance.
After conceding the goal Sandiacre started to play and were always confident of winning the game despite Blackwell’s fight for their supreme status.
Ghislanzoni's quick feet took him to the edge of the box , he pulled the ball back to Briscoe but his shot went narrowly wide.
Blackwell tried to play neAt football but when they had carved an opening it was lack of ideas that was the downfall.
Brady's 20th minute cross found Potter but from a yard out he somehow missed the target.
It was to be Potter who leveled this came just after the half hour he beat the offside trap and beat Tilley to the ball, he then took the ball around Tilley and made amends for his earlier miss slotting the ball into the back of the net.
H/t 1-1
Sandiacre took the lead on 56mins, Ghislanzoni’s through ball bobbled through to Potter and he poked the ball past Tilley
5 mins later Brady was chopped down in the area and the referee had no option other than to award a Sandiacre penalty, Ghislanzoni the normal penalty taker offered it to Potter for his hat-trick but Tilley made a fine stop.
The final goal came on 79 sub Hughes played a delightful pass with the outside off his boot to Mellors, he squared it to Brady who thumped the ball into the back of the net.

Sandiacre Town 6 V Kiveton Park 1 (League) 27/04/042
Despite conceding an early goal Sandiacre cruised to a convincing when but really could have been into double figures.
Kiveton stunned Sandiacre in the first min, Wood twisted and turned on the edge of the box and the swerved the ball past Harvey with a delightful shot.
Sandiacre equalised after 15 mins a long ball caught the Kiveton defense and the Sandiacre forward line pressured Nelson into a poor back pass to Pywell. As Pywell lost control, Potter managed to win the ball as his shot went goal wards Nelson looked to be in charge of matters but Potter slid in and managed to poke the ball behind the goal line.
On the half hour mark Sandiacre played the ball out of defense with some delightful slick passing and was finished of in style when berry produced a telling cross that Ghislanzoni headed back across goal into the far corner.
The third came seven minutes later Hale sent Potter clear, as Pywell came out to close him down Potter scored with a delightful lob to send the crowd ecstatic.
Pywell kept the score line down saving well from Brady (2) and to deny Potter his hat-trick
H/t 3-1
The second half was barely a minute old and Potter had been fouled on the edge of the box, Briscoe's kick found Ghislanzoni at the back post his shot was palmed away by Pywell but only into the path of Brady who crashed the ball home.
Brady made the 5th he kept the ball in play before crossing to the center Pywell failed to reach the ball and this let in Ghislanzoni to tap in.
Sub Hughes created the 6th crossing to the middle where ghislanzoni took the ball in his stride but was brought down by webster and he was awarded a penalty. Up stepped sandiacre's keeper Harvey (M) to place the ball past Pywell. This was to be his last kick of the game as he stood down and let Harvey junior step in between the post.
Marlow intercepted a Kiveton attack on the half way line and went on to goal himself his firstly shot was blocked by Pywell and his second was turned behind for a corner.

Sandiacre Town 3 V Clipston Welfare 0 (League) 24/04/042
Despite going behind twice Sandiacre came back to take all three points and keep themselves in touch with other team to fight out for third place.
Clipstone had the better of the early exchanges first Wigginton picked out Batty who was unmarked but as he was about to shoot Berry got back with a well timed block, then Tunnicliffe beat the offside trap before seeing his shot beat Harvey but hit the foot of the post and across the face of the goal before being cleared from danger.
Sandiacre then enjoyed a good spell Mellor’s made ground down the left and the crossed to the centre where Potter with his back to goal laid the ball back to Ghislanzoni but his shoot was blocked.
Then after 17 mins Hale played the ball back to Briscoe, his long range strike was saved by Burton.
Brady received the ball out wide. He played a clever back heel to release Potter after cutting inside he tried to place his shot past Burton but failed and Sandiacre were to pay for their missed chances when Mellor’s foul Mulligan just outside the penalty box. Mulligan himself took the free kick which Harvey failed to hold and Allen was on hand to head the ball in.
On the stroke off half time Sandiacre were lucky not to go further behind this time Mulligan 's shot hit the foot of Harvey’s post the hit the other post and somehow rebounded back into the hands of the keeper.
H/t 0-1
Within two mins of the restart Booth delivered a perfect corner for Briscoe to head the ball goalwards the ball looked to be going in but Aldred flicked his foot at the ball and made certain.
Clipstone regained the lead thanks to Hardwick as Marlow was letting the ball run back to his keeper Hardwick gave him a push that went unseen by the referee. Marlow and harvey clashed and this allowed Hardwick to tap in the loose ball.
The Saints drew level on 65 Aldred was fouled on the edge of the box. Ghislanzoni’s kick was to hot for Burton and Aldred pounced to poach his second.
Aldred could have had a hat-trick after Ghislanzoni’s pull back was perfect but Aldred's shot was cleared of the line by Jeff's.
Sandiacre's winner came on 74 mins Booth slotted the ball past Burton this came after some good work from hale to keep the ball and then pick out booth.
Mark Harvey in the Sandiacre goal took a bad injury to his nose and was replaced by his son jack who was making his second appearance for Sandiacre but Clipstone failed to test the youngster.

Sandiacre Town 4 V Teversal 0 (League) 20/04/04
Sandiacre won the game with ease and got of to the best start possible, Brady held the ball up well before trying to play Berry in down the right but as Day tried to shepherd the ball out of play Berry some how whipped his foot around the ball and crossed perfectly for Brady to lash the ball past Hudson in the opening seconds.
Sandiacre doubled their led after Brady was fouled on the edge of the box Ghislanzoni struck a low free kick that Hudson should have dealt with better but Potter was on hand to tap in the loose ball.
Another flowing move from the Saints ended with Hale shooting fiercely but Hudson did better this time finger tipping the ball behind for a corner.
Sandiacre were denied a third by the referee Ghislanzoni headed Mellor's cross into the back of the net but it was disallowed for hold a player down.
Ghislanzoni went close again this time Brady got to the bar line but Ghislanzoni shot hit the side netting.
Graham streets best chance fell to ex Saints player Slinger but he was to be denied be a great save from Harvey.
H/t 2-0
Ten mins into the second half Briscoe’s clearance fell to grant he went around Harvey but Mellor's got back to put in a tremendous tackle to halt grants progress.
Substitute Aldred fed Brady for Sandiacre's third but with still allot of work to be done Brady charged past 2 defenders before going around Hudson and slotting the ball into an empty net.
The scoring was finished 2 mins before time Aldred found himself unmarked out on the right and crossed the ball to the back post were Hudson was deceived by the flight of the ball and picked out of his net for the fourth time.

Dinnington Town 3 V Sandiacre Town 0 (League) 17/04/04
With both teams having games in hand to creep up the table Dinnington came out on top with a little help from the officials this is not sour grapes and we know we are all human and mistakes will be made but that is no excuses for poor officiating.
The game started at such a slow pace it looked like it was going to be a 0-0 bore draw and it took until the 15th minute until the first shot at goal was recorded, Ghislanzoni showed some great skill in bringing the ball down and then laying it off to Trueman but his miss kick fell nicely for Hale but his curling snap shot went just wide of Rhodes upright.
Dinnington had a couple of chances first a cross from the left was met by Clarke but Harvey was on hand to save then Wright (G) received the ball on the edge of the box but his wayward shot didn't trouble Harvey.
On 36 mins Hale saw his long range shot deflect of Ntiedu and looked to be looping into the far corner, Rhodes scrambled back but the ball fell the wrong side of the crossbar.
The best chance of the game went to Dinnington, Rosser played a through ball for Clarke to run on to but for some strange reason he didn't attempt to have a shot and let the ball run out of play.
After Ghislanzoni had rode three tackle's he was well placed to unleash a shot at goal but the referee deemed he should be brought back and be awarded a free kick instead strange after he was in a better position to shoot before the whistle, Briscoe’s kick was comfortably saved by Rhodes.
H/t 0-0
The second half started like the first started and the best thing for the crowd had to watch a clown that had turned up for a children's party.
Rosser took a knock to his face but the referee he allowed play to go on until Sandiacre’s berry sportingly kicked the ball out of play for Rosser to get attention.
The deadlock was opened on 58 mins a cross from the right picked out Rosser and his well placed shot into the far corner gave Harvey no chance.
The lead was doubled in a mysterious incident a cross came in and Hale and Mirfin went up for the ball neither player connected with the ball and it went out of play but with no appeals from the Dinnington players or bench the referee blew his whistle and pointed to the penalty spot. For all Sandiacre’s questions the decision stood and Toulsen gratefully converted the penalty.
Before being substituted Toulsen set up Dinnington's third his miss kicked shot fell to Siggs and with just Harvey to beat he rounded of the scoring by slotting the ball home.

Retford 5 V Sandiacre Town 1 (Floodlit Cup Final) 14/04/04
A some what flattering score line does not really tell the story of the game. Retford who are a very good side took their goals well but new they had been in a closer game than the score line suggests.
Sandiacre had the first chance Ghislanzoni broke deep into Retford’s half before he his pass was just too strong for Brady to latch on to.
Retford rocked Sandiacre on 6 mins Cartledge played a ball that was failed to be dealt with by Marlow or Briscoe. Powell nipped in to round Harvey and open the score line.
Sandiacre responded with Booth's free kick was cleared of Dickie's head but the loose ball fell to hale his looping shot went over.
Retford's lead was doubled on 16 mins Sandiacre again failed to clear their lines and Noteman bustled his way through to make space to fire past the stranded Harvey.
Probably Sandiacre’s best chance fell to Potter he was picked out by Ghislanzoni put his early shot was easily saved by Kingston.
Harvey in the Sandiacre goal used all his experience to deny Powell his second with a great reflex save from point blank range. Noteman then headed the loose ball wide
Retford were full of pace and running and again Harvey had to be at his best saving well from Cartledge who had raced clear from towns defence.
H/t 2-0
The second half saw Sandiacre play the ball around better and ask questions of the Retford defence and after Berry / Hale between them cleared the danger Brady’s effort flew across the face of Kingston’s goal.
Brady was beginning to be more of a danger and after he beat his marker he cut inside and crossed to the back post where Potter’s downward header was scrambled behind by Kingston.
Harvey was again in the thick of the action after Hennessey beat the offside trap his ball found Cartledge but from the edge of the box his shot was saved, two mins later Harvey’s poor kick exposed the Sandiacre back line but Marlow reacted quickest to close down Cartledge.
Powell was again to be thwarted by Harvey this time saving well to his left. Before Ghislanzoni charged into the Retford box and was brought down by Soloman. Ghislanzoni picked himself up to fire the penalty into the back of net.
Retford sealed game on 90 mins, Cartledge picks out the unmarked Powell who finishes clinically as Sandiacre had looked to equalise.
Then deep into injury time a long kick by Kingston finds Powell and he rifles the ball past Harvey for his hat-trick and Retford’s fourth.

Greenwood Meadows 0 V Sandiacre Town (League) 10/04/04
Sandiacre ran out comfortable winners in this league clash but the only disappointing thing was that they didn't score more goals but the three points were gladly taken, this leaves Greenwood struggling down in the danger area.
The opening goal came just after the fourth minute, Ghislanzoni intercepted a free kick and released Brady who finished from 20 yards with a clinical shot that caught McDonald unawares out of his goal.
Greenwood cleared their heads and nearly equalised after 11 mins , Dickie dallied on the ball and Mcardle (K) nipped in but fired over from close range.
The Sandiacre defense was unlocked again 3 mins later. A deep cross picked out Gee unmarked and his shot looked to have beat Harvey but went just wide.
That was as close as greenwood came. Sandiacre doubled their lead on 25 Ghislanzoni who looked his normal self broke through the meadows defense before getting a lucky ricochet past the last defender and then went on to beat McDonald with a fine shot into the far corner.
A short back pass from ward gifted Sandiacre their 3rd Brady was alert to it and then went around McDonald and slot the ball into the back of the net.
Just before half time Ghislanzoni picked out potter with a delightful ball he played a through ball to Brady but the keeper saved his shot on the line.
H/t 0-3
The second half was very flat compared to the 1st and with Sandiacre’s cup final against Retford only days away manager Tony roe decided to rest Marlow and Booth and bring on Tanner and Hughes respectively.
A good build up fromh and Hughes let in Ghislanzoni but his shot went over the crossbar.
As Briscoe defended he pulled up with an injury this gave Greenwood chance to cross but the final shot went over from south.
The impressive Ghislanzoni was pulling the strings with a number of attacking runs but potter and Brady were guilty of wasting his openings.
The best chance of the second half came from Hale ,after Sandiacre were awarded a free kick who bent his shot around the wall but McDonald got down well to push the ball around the post.
Sandiacre made their final substitution with just 5 mins to give Harvey junior got his debut replacing his dad in between the posts.

Dinnington Town 1 V Sandiacre Town 0 (League Cup S/F) 06/04/04
Despite a valiant effort, Sandiacre bowed out to a well organized defence of Dinnington who held together to face either Retford or pelican in the final.
The first effort went to Sandiacre, Brady looked to be stopped in his tracks but after deceiving his marker's he managed to get a shot at goal but Rhodes was well placed to save.
After Potter had won a corner Flindalls kick was half cleared and hale hit a looping shot that went over the cross bar.
The solitary goal came on 7 mins Siggs looked to be off side but with no whistle Sandiacre’s appeals were in vain and Siggs went on to goal, his goal bound shot was unfortunately parried by Harvey into the path of Rosser.
Four mins later Dinnington could and should have doubled their lead Siggs did well reach a long ball before he skillfully beat Dickie he then produced a looping shot that beat Harvey but was denied by the upright.
Sandiacre then enjoyed plenty of possession and responded well to going a goal behind but they lacked the killer instinct in front of goal and had chances to draw level go begin first, Briscoe’s drive went over then Brady’s early shot was gathered by Rhodes and after some great determination won Potter the ball he went on to cut the ball back to Brady but his shot went just the wrong side of the post. Dinnington were very dangerous on the break and it was Rosser who went close on two occasions but he first shot over then wide.
H/t 1-0
A neat build up from Ghislanzoni and potter resulted in potter's final pass being just too strong for Ghislanzoni and Rhodes claimed the ball.
In another dangerous break away for Dinnington Clarke got to the bar line and then delivered a cross that Briscoe headed away from Siggs who was unmarked.
As time ticked a away Sandiacre made changes Tanner replaced booth which enabled Ghislanzoni to push on more. This unlocked the Dinnington defence as Ghislanzoni go to the bar line and the pulled the ball back to Flindall but he shot wide.
Briscoe went close with a fine low strike which Rhodes fumbled around the corner.
Mellor's then replaced Flindall and Higgins replaced Hale but it was all to no avail as Dinnington played out the remaining time out in Sandiacre's corners.

Askern M W 1 V Sandiacre Town 1 (League) 03/04/04
Although this might be a very good point for askern this result must be a massive blow to the players and management of Sandiacre town. The kick off was delayed 15 mins due to traffic congestion caused by a number of crashes on the roads to Askern. The game started at a very slow pace by both teams and it wasn't until the 21st min before we had a shot at goal this came after Brady was fouled on the edge of Askern's penalty box, up stepped Ghislanzoni but with stand in keeper Wright beat Ghislanzoni could only watch as his kick struck the upright, the ball rebounded out to Higgins and he pulled the ball back to Mellor’s but his low drive went narrowly wide.
Keeper Wright was given the number 1 shirt after the original keeper Hardaker had injured himself in the warm up.
Although the passing left something to be desired Sandiacre carried on creating chances and after Brady dummied Dickie,s pass Mellor's found himself out left and with time to look up he picked out Brady but he was thwarted by man of the match Wright.
Again Wright was in action this time ex derby county player Briscoe unleashed a fine low drive from 25 yards but Wright was equal to the shot.
H/t 0-0
In the first minute of the second half Askern took a shock lead after a long clearance. Briscoe headed the ball backwards to give him space but found himself under pressure from Robson who nicked the ball of him. As he went towards goal Harvey came out to him but Robson rounded him and slotted into an empty net.
The Sandiacre town players kept plugging away trying to get out of the mess they had got themselves into but from Mellor’s corner Brady's header was saved by Wright, then the Mellor’s Brady combination worked again but Brady’s shot lacked power and guess who was there to save?. Yes Wright.
Sandiacre eventually drew level after 72 mins Wright had pulled of a number of great saves but Brady scrambled the ball home from 2 yards out.
With Sandiacre camped in the Askern half Harvey was a mere spectator but the winning goal failed to materialize and Ghislanzoni shot over from 20 yards and Brady’s swerving drive hit the side netting.

Graham street Prims 2 V Sandiacre Town 2 (Floodlit Cup) 31/03/04
Sandiacre Win 4-2 on agg.
Sandiacre progressed through to the final despite drawing the second leg with goals coming from Brady and Potter while Grant and Coal replied for Prims.
Sandiacre expected Graham Street to charge at them from the start but it was the Saints who had the first chance Hale set up Ghislanzoni but wood tipped his shot over. From the resulting corner Prims broke from defense and Wilson brought out a great save from Harvey.
Whiley pumped up a long clearance to Brady his tricky run took him past 2 street defenders before he slotted the ball under Wood.
16 mins into the game Prims drew level they won a corner and after a scramble Grants shot finished in the back of the net.
The score line went back in favour of Sandiacre 2 mins later, Flindall picked out Potter and despite looking offside the linesman waved play on and Potter placed his shot into the corner of the net.
H/t 1-2
Sandiacre's best chance of the second half came after Berry fired a searching ball to find Ghislanzoni but his effort sailed high and wide.
Prims put men forward to try and reduce the aggregate score line but it took them till the 70th minute sub Lillie found Wilson and his cross split the defense and keeper Harvey for Cole to score in of the post.
In the dying minutes Cole picked out Wilson at the back post but he directed his header the wrong side off the upright.

Sandiacre Town 0 V Teversal 2 (League) 27/03/04
Teversal walked away with all three points but it came from two unfortunate Sandiacre players as they both netted into their own goal. The saints were good for at least a point but could not manage to force the ball in.
After Harvey had claimed Campbell’s corner he found Brady who held the ball up well until he released Ghislanzoni but with the goal in his sight he scuffed his shot and Dalby saved.
Teversal's opener came after 9 mins they had won three consecutive corners and from the last Campbell’s in-swinger deflected off the unfortunate Whiley and into the back of the net.
Sandiacre responded well and potters skill won him space in the Teversal area but was brought down by Mitchell. Ghislanzoni placed the ball on the spot but saw his kick saved by Dalby and Ghislanzoni follow up was also saved which proved to be costly.
Teversal's main form of attack came from the quality of their corner's which were causing Sandiacre problems on every occasion.
Brady's persistence won him a free kick which Booth picked out Ghislanzoni at the back post but under pressure from Walker his header went the wrong side of the post.
Teversal second came on 26, Williams did well to reach the bye line and put in a dangerous cross once again Sandiacre were undone by another own goal this time Briscoe’s attempted clearance sliced of his boot and past Harvey
Leading goal scorer Ghislanzoni had an effort from twenty yards go over and he must have known from then it was not going to be his day.
Woodcock used his pace to beat Marlow but was to no avail as the ball went out for a goal kick.
H/t 2-0
In his attempts to claw back into the game Tony Roe changed things at half time and brought on Flindall for Hughes and Dickie for Whiley.
Brady never gave up a lost cause and got between two Teversal defenders but could only poke his shot at the well placed Dalby. Dalby was again in action Ghislanzoni had his shot blocked and the ball fell to Flindall but Dalby finger tipped the ball behind the post
Despite Ghislanzoni being sent off after 54 mins Sandiacre carried on the fight but Hale and Brady couldn't find the back of the net
At the other end Woodcock pulled his shot wide before Williams long range shot was parried away by Harvey. With the clock ticking away Teversal held on for a vital win.

Sandiacre Town 2 V Graham street Prims 0 (Floodlit Cup) 24/03/04
Sandiacre gave themselves some breathing space to take to Graham S P next week with a fine first leg result with the goals coming in each half through leading goal scorer nick Ghislanzoni and a delightful strike from Marc Booth respectfully.
Graham S P started the more comfortable and had plenty of possession forcing Sandiacre onto the back foot but with out really putting keeper Harvey under any pressure
It was actually Hudson in the Prims goal that made the first save, when a long free kick was only half cleared the ball fell kindly for Hughes to hit a rasping shot that Hudson tipped over the bar.
The game then turned a bit niggley and day and hill were booked for Prims and Brady went into the book for Sandiacre.
Marlow’s back pass nearly bounced over Harvey but he decided to catch the ball and Prims were awarded a free kick 6 yards out but Archbold blasted his shot over.
The deadlock was broken after 35 mins brady put a cross in from the right and after a goalmouth scramble Ghislanzoni lashed the loose ball into the roof of the net.
H/t 1-0
Ghislanzoni was on fire and went close on a couple of occasions first he headed narrowly wide from booth's corner and then saw Hudson tip his looping shot over the bar.
Hudson then saved well from Brady but could do nothing about Booth's 70th minute half volley that looped into the back of the net to give the Saints a two lead cushion.
Without Hudson in this fine form Sandiacre could have had four or five as again saved well from Ghislanzoni and Brady.

Both teams found it hard going to play football because of the wind but Sandiacre took a 20th min lead in controversial fashion, Ghislanzoni was hacked down 20 yards out and picked himself up to strike the ball, it took a big deflection and despite Neave get a hand to it the ball found the back of the net, the controversy was that as Ghislanzoni was about to strike the ball the wind had started the ball to move but Nettleham's appeals were to no avail.
Sandiacre lost center half Dickie to injury and was replaced by Hale after 24 mins
As the played havoc Briscoe misjudged the flight of the ball and it fell kindly to walker but he wasted the chance fire high and wide of the goal.
Sandiacre doubled their lead after 40 mins Berry found half a yard out on the right and put in a perfect cross that was met by Hale his thunderous header gave Neave no chance to save.
H/t 2-0
As the wind died down a little Sandiacre played the better football in the second half but failed to add to their account, they did go close though and after a goal mouth scramble Hughes saw his shot skid past the post
One of Nettleham's few chances came from nothing really a long range shot from Gray was fumbled by Harvey as it took a bobble but he reacted well to gather the loose ball under pressure from Beesley.
Brady had the next chance for Sandiacre after receiving the ball down the right he cut inside and unleashed a fierce shot that hit the under side of the cross bar and was cleared from danger by the Nettleham defence.
Booth delivered a corner to the back post where Ghislanzoni headed the ball back into the danger area but keeper Neave parried the ball away from danger.
Gray had another long range strike for Nettleham but this skimmed the cross and out for a goal kick.
Another chance went begging for Sandiacre again the booth, Ghislanzoni combination worked but Brady diverted Ghislanzoni header wide of the post.

Gedling MW 3(3) V Sandiacre Town 3(5) (League Cup) 13/03/04
What a thrilling contest this has been after Gedling forced a replay last week in injury time the teams had to play extra time to finally settle the tie.
As in last weeks game Sandiacre took an early lead, Briscoe’s free kick was only half cleared. The ball fell to Brady he pulled the ball back to Flindall who's shot was parried by Wright but Brady reacted quickest to slot the ball into the back off the net.
Sandiacre looked for the second but from Flindall’s corner Ghislanzoni put his header wide off goal, then Flindall had his goal bound effort blocked.
The game then twisted the other way Smith's 19 minute cross to the back post was headed in by McGinty who had crept in unmarked.
Gedling then won a penalty 2 mins later saints defender Whiley was harshly adjudged to have handled in the area and it was Nowak who fired the spot kick into the net.
Gedling had a chance to go further in front as Harvey raced out of goal to meet Nowak he miss kicked the ball but the ball ran away from Nowak and the danger had gone.
The score line was level after 30 mins Ghislanzoni found Brady unmarked and with a delightful lob he beat the stranded Wright.
With half time approaching saints keeper Harvey made a superb finger tip save to deny Smith and then commanded his area and caught the resulting corner.
H/t 2-2
Gedling got their noses in front again this coming after 65 mins Wilson chested down the ball for Westby to fire past Harvey from 18 yards.
The game was all level again on 71 booths took a Sandiacre corner and in the goalmouth scramble that followed Brady forced the ball into the back off the net from close range for a fine hat-trick.
90mins 3-3
Both teams had chances to win the game but it wasn't to be and the game went into extra time and Gedling were stunned with another two fine goals first Brady got his fourth of the game firing an unstoppable shot past Wright before Ghislanzoni went across the 18 yard line and beat Wright again with a fine strike.
The rest of the game was just played out as Sandiacre were not about to let a two goal led slip away.

Sandiacre Town 1 V Gedling MW 1 (League Cup) 06/03/04
The afternoon started well for Sandiacre they first received a plaque from league sponsors for being awarded team of the month for January this was presented to secretary Mel Williams and then the team took an early lead but it was to be cancelled out by a late equalizer.
The Saints opened the scoring after just 3 mins Ghislanzoni weaved his way through Gedling’s defence and then played a delightful ball through to Potter, he shot under the body of Wright for the ball to nestle into the back off the net.
The lead could have been doubled just two mins later, Brady did well beating a defender then keeper Wright but was to be denied by the crossbar.
Gedling's first chance of the game came courtesy of Saints defender Whiley, Gedling won a throw-in and Whiley directed his header back to his keeper but to the wrong side of Harvey and Whiley could only watch agonizingly as the ball went behind for a corner.
Harvey was then called into action again but this time he saved well from Wilson's glancing header.
Gedling then had plenty of possession but this came to no avail. Sandiacre's Ghislanzoni must have covered every blade of grass on the pitch but his two best efforts at goal were to be kept out first a free kick deflected of the wall and sent keeper Wright the wrong way but was then cleared from danger, then was denied by Wright who made an excellent save from his shot on the turn.
H/t 1-0
Ghislanzoni was again denied by Wright his fierce Scott was well held by Wright.
Gedling’s best chance came on 58 mins Westby’s shot struck Harvey's crossbar and then Sandiacre cleared their lines.
Up until now Sandiacre’s Brady had been quiet but in the space of a couple of mins he could have secured the win but his first chance he headed Ghislanzoni’s cross wide and then his appeals for a penalty went begging.
When Ghislanzoni met Booth's free kick his header looked to have beat Wright but he managed to turn it behind for a corner.
Sandiacre kept on creating chances but both Higgins and hale were to be denied.
Deep into injury time Harvey failed to claim the ball that he called for and Martin Smith latched on to the loose ball and hit the back of the net to set up a replay next Saturday.

Sandiacre Town 1 V Dunkirk 1 (4-2 aet) (Floodlit Cup) 24/02/04
Sandiacre progressed to the semi-final after Dunkirk had taken them to extra time in this thrilling cup tie. Both teams played entertaining football with Sandiacre’s crisp passing and Dunkirk using their pace.
Dunkirk's Thompson played a dangerous cross for Curwood crash his shot in at goal it beat Harvey but he was to be denied by the upright.
Sandiacre opened the scoring after 22 mins Higgins played a perfect cross for Brady to tower above his marker and head the ball into the back of the net this to be his first of a fine hat-trick.
Higgins then set up Ghislanzoni but his low strike was dealt with unconvincingly by Lowe in the Dunkirk net with his foot.
The score line was level after 40 mins the saints failed to clear a Dunkirk corner and the unfortunate Briscoe directed his header back to goal and caught Harvey unawares.
Sandiacre carved an opening through some neat passing but Ghislanzoni’s strike fizzed over the bar.
Dunkirk's Thomas (Darryl) skipped away using his pace but Marlow timed his tackle to perfection to win the ball and see away the danger.
Sandiacre looked to have won the game Mellors played a great one- two with Ghislanzoni and it was the latter who had his shot parried by lowe straight into the path of Brady his was kicked out from behind the line by Curwood and the officials waved away Sandiacre’s appeals with 10 mins remaining Sandiacre’s booth got his marching orders for his second yellow card
Into extra time and Ghislanzoni created a chance for himself but his shot was blocked by Murdock the follow up was from Brady and he thumped the ball into the back of the net.
Brady was rampant and got his hat-trick on 105 mins with a great solo effort, he collected the ball on the wing before teasing his marker before beating him and finishing coolly
It could only be one person to create the fourth and that was Brady he had another great run before pulling the ball back to Ghislanzoni for him to slot the ball past Lowe.
Dunkirk got a consolation through Curwood but the tie was not going to be thrown away at this point.

Gedling M W 0 V Sandiacre Town 1 (League) 21/02/04
Sandiacre town players completed the double over Gedling, they picked themselves up from the news that Saint Giles Park the home ground of the saints would not be accepted by the NCL even if they finished in a promotion spot.
Gedling's Hatherley used his pace to force Whiley to back peddle but after beating Whiley Hatherley wasted his chance with a poor shot that went well wide.
At the other end Brady's trickery won him a free kick some 25 yards out and Ghislanzoni delivered a telling shot to open the scoring, after just 7 mins
Saints keeper Harvey was forced into a great save denying Booth's ( J ) header from McCaughey’s free kick, and again saved well from smith's point blank range shot.
With a host of free kick takers in Sandiacre’s side captain Briscoe took charge and struck a free kick just over the bar.
On the stroke of half time Sandiacre had another free kick in a similar position to where Ghislanzoni had scored from this time he sent the ball in the opposite direction but hit the upright.
H/t 0-1
Sandiacre forced an early corner which was met by Brady’s head but Wright (D) in the Gedling goal produced a fine reflex save the ball then fell to Hale but his shot was then kicked off the line by Russell (G).
Gedling stepped up a gear in search of an equalizer and forced a number of corners which Sandiacre looked shaky at times but managed to clear their lines.
(g) Wright had a great chance to level but Marlow blocked his shot the ball was then turned behind for a corner by Harvey from smith's looping shot, the resulting corner from McCaughey end with smith heading narrowly wide.
Despite being pegged back Sandiacre held on to take all 3 points

Retford 5 V Sandiacre Town 1 (League) 14/02/04
League leaders Retford took all three points in this top of the table clash in classic first half performance.
They took an early lead and never looked back as a cross from the right bounced just in front of berry this eluded him and he failed to get any distance on his header and the ball fell to Castledine who finished clinically to open the scoring.
Sandiacre replied through Flindall but as he hit a loose ball first time this brought a great save from Allen.
Both teams created chances Brady’s glancing header went just wide, then Reah hit the foot of the post after a good solo run.
Retford stepped up a gear and Harvey was the busier of the two keepers and saved first from Hennessey then from Noteman with his legs but was then unfortunate in the 33rd min, Davies put in a cross to Powell from the right Powell controlled the ball on the blind side of the officials but Harvey again saved with his legs but Powell reacted quickest and slotted in the loose ball.
A minute later midfielder Noteman got Retford's third with a fine strike beating Harvey with a low shot from the edge of the area.
On the stroke of half time Powell beat Marlow down the right and put in a cross that went straight across the front of goal and ended up at the feet of Reah and his shot went through a number of players which unsighted Harvey and gave Retford a very handsom half time lead
H/t 4-0
The second half was never going to live up to the first but Retford carried on creating goal scoring opportunities, and should have been five up but Powell put his shot wide of the mark after rushing it he should have done better from being in a unmarked position.
Again Powell was guilty of poor finishing Davies had played him clean through but Powell powered his shot over the bar with just Harvey to beat.
It took until the 74th min for Retford to increase their lead Hennessey played a delightful ball to pick out the unmarked Powell who made no mistake this time slotting the ball past Harvey.
Sandiacre got a consolation goal back through a fine effort from Ghislanzoni but Retford will look back on a fine first half performance.

Sandiacre Town 2 V Harworth CI 1 (League Cup) 11/02/04
Despite a late scare Sandiacre progressed through to the next round thanks to Aaron Brady's brace.
Sandiacre enjoyed plenty of possession in the opening mins and Trueman was having a tremendous game first he went close but his shot skidded just wide of Brogan's post then he showed some neat skill before hanging a cross up for Brady to hit on the volley but brogan produced a fine save.
After 16 mins Ghislanzoni showed some brilliant skill before playing the ball out to Higgins his shot was to hot for brogan and Brady was on hand to tap in the loose ball.
Again Trueman was the thorn in Harworth's side but his delicate chip went just wide.
Harworth's best chance came from Fox who cut inside the box before see Harvey parry his shot but Harvey was quick to redeem himself and was first to the loose ball.
H/t 1-0
Brady got his second on 70 mins Flindall played a great ball into the danger area and Brady made no mistake from just 6 yards out.
Brogan kept Harworth in the game with a fine save from Trueman' s curling shot and pulled a goal back on 81 mins a goalmouth scramble ended with Tanner's unlucky clearance going in his own net.
This set up a nail biting finish and after Sandiacre appeals for a penalty ended with a free kick outside the box Harworth went up the other end but Welbourne's late strike was ruled out for offside.

Baron OB 3 V Sandiacre Town 0 (League) 07/02/04
Sandiacre suffered a crushing blow to their promotion hopes with a defeat at the hands of Barton.
The game was played in wintry conditions with gusts, rain, sleet and hail but it was Barton that coped better than their visitors.
In the second minute Dickie was adjudged to have brought down Dennis some 20 yards out , and this was to give Barton the lead. Grimes placed his free kick low around the wall and beat Harvey's desperate dive with the ball nestling in the far corner of the net.
5 minutes later a neat build up from Barton created a chance for Bray but his effort ended with a disappointing shot that went well over.
Sandiacre replied, after booth had been fouled he picked himself up to deliver a free kick which Marlow crept in at the back post but his header was straight at Jordan.
Sandiacre's best chance came on 27 mins, Flindall took a short corner to Whiley and then got the ball back to put a cross into the danger area where Truman shot first time but the ball went wide of the upright.
With the wind in their favor Sandiacre’s Ghislanzoni tried his look from long range but his shot hit the foot of the post and out for a goal kick.
Parkinson then used his pace to beat the offside trap but was shadowed back by marlow, who forced Parkinson to shoot early and was to be denied by Harvey.
H/t 1-0
As the wintry conditions got worse the second half became very poor with both sets of players struggling to cope with the wind, but Elliott created a chance for himself by powering into the saints penalty area and with a lucky deflection he found himself one on one with Harvey but failed to steer the ball past the Saints keeper.
Brady won a free kick for Sandiacre but Barton defended well and then counter attacked through Parkinson but he wanted too much time on the ball and Sandiacre regrouped and cleared the danger.
With just 5 mins remaining Barton increased their lead with a shot from bray which was worthy of the entrance fee, he unleashed a shot from some 30-32 yards and it just flew past the hapless Harvey.
Then on the stroke of full time sub Shrimpton took advantage of some slack defending and fired a shot into the bottom corner to complete a well earned victory.

Dunkirk 1 V Sandiacre Town 2 (League) 24/01/04
Sandiacre completed the double over Dunkirk this season with goals coming from a Ghislanzoni penalty and a fine effort from Brady while baker scored for the hosts.
In the opening minutes Sandiacre forced the early and Berry's cross set up Trueman but keeper Lowe saved comfortably, and in the 2nd minute Flindall was on the edge of the box he beat his man but his shot just cleared the bar.
Dunkirk then settled down and began to create chances pegging Sandiacre onto their back foot.
Dunkirk's Harbottle had a big part in his teams attacks and was influential in the final result, he first created a chance for baker which miss kicked his shot wide, then made space for himself to drive a shot but was just wide of Harvey's goal.
The next chance was probably the best chance of all, Coole's 20th minute shot was parried by Harvey into the path of Harbottle but his strike again went wide despite appeals for a corner.
Dunkirk thought they had taken the led in the 39th min (Dominic) Thomas put in a high cross which Harvey spilled under challenge and Ashwell poked the ball into the back of the net, only to hear the referee's whistle and Sandiacre be awarded a free kick for a foul on Harvey.
H/t 0-0
In the early mins of the second half Briscoe’s shot was charged down but Truman played the loose ball back to Briscoe he tried to go around the Dunkirk's defense but went to ground under a desperate challenge and the referee's assistant awarded a penalty kick. In Harbottle frustration with the linesman decision he received his marching orders. After all the commotion Ghislanzoni stroked the ball past Lowe.
Dunkirk's Scott used his pace to race towards Sandiacre’s goal but as he was closed down by Harvey his shot went the wrong side of the upright.
Dunkirk made a substitution and this was to pay dividends for them, Vitale replaced Ashwell and it was Vitale's left footed cross that was headed in by Baker to bring the score level.
Eleven men Sandiacre pilled the pressure on the Dunkirk defense and Ghislanzoni made a chance for Briscoe but his strike was finger tipped past the post by Lowe.
The winning goal came in the 69th min Brady's run took him towards goal and after riding a tackle he slotted the ball past the desperate Lowe.

Sandiacre Town 1 V Greenwood Meadows 1 (League) 17/01/04
A lot of people will be surprised at this result but when a team near the bottom come to a team that is near the top they always prove hard to be beaten and this was again the case.
Greenwood took the game to Sandiacre and from a greenwood throw in willows and beech created the first chance and this fell to ward but his shot from distance went wide.
Sandiacre replied after booth had won a free kick, Ghislanzoni looked as if he was about to pull the trigger but elected to pass the ball out to berry but his shot was well saved by McDonald.
After 17 mins Sandiacre breached the greenwood goal after a build up berry's cross was nodded down by Trueman to Brady and he poked the ball into the back of the net only to see the referee's assistant wave
