Despite the over weighted score line this does not
reflect the standard of the football played by both teams.
The first goal went in after a hard fought 15 mins,
and a somewhat dubious hand ball by the Wilton forwards, which the ref did not
pick up, much to the great disappointment of all the supporters with 20/20
vision. The first half ended 1-0.
This set the president for the match and it appeared
that lady luck would not be smiling on Durrington today.
The second half started with bags of enthusiasm,
with an early goal from Wilton closely answered by one from Durrington.
There were many shots on target but alas didn't
quite make it through to the goal to the net.
Final score after a hard fought match was Durrington
Rangers 1 - Wilton 5. Man of the match was Ben H. |
Success at last, a much needed league win has
arrived. Another fantastic effort by the under 10's, but this time the score
line reflects it.

Durrington opened the scoring with an early goal
and managed to hang onto a 3 - 0 lead after a desperate goal mouth clearance
just before the half time whistle.

The second half saw a number of team changes with
coach Nick Riggs giving all squad members a chance to play. The
second half was much more nail biting with the visiting team managing to
scrape 3 goals past the Durrington defence.
However team and work dedication paid off
in the end with final results showing the home team to be the winners.
Both teams played very well and are to be
commended on the commitment. Man of the match golden boots Ben H. |
