About Us
Devon Croft Nursery is a family business, now in its 18th trading year. James Richardson is the 2nd generation
to embark on the business, although many a generation of his family have been nurserymen in the Newark area. Over the past
18 years, Devon Croft has developed into an extensively stocked nursery and remains the only one in Newark.
Devon Croft Nursery continues to expand. Over the last few years, a new tree and shrub area has been introduced,
which includes a wide selection from old favorites to the more unusual specimens. Increased growing area means that many more shrubs
and perennials are home-grown. The important aspect of our business is that the vast majority of plants we sell are home-grown, on site.
The nursery stocks a range of Bamboo and ornamental and fruit trees. Also in stock are dwarf conifers, lleylandii,
herbaceous perennials, alpines, climbers, clematis, ferns, hostas and grasses.
Devon Croft Nursery specialise in annual bedding which is available in multi-packs, basket and patio plants,
geraniums and over 60 varieties of fuchsia including standards. The nursery grows over 250,000 plants for the summer season.

Hanging baskets are available for both summer and winter colour. These can be bought off-the-peg or ordered early in the season for collection later.
Many people are keen to grow their own food, whether it be in their garden, allotment or on their patio. Throughout spring, the nursery
offers a choice of fruit and vegetable plants including runner beans, French beans, peppers, courgettes, aubergines, melons, cucumbers,
strawberry plants and 12 varieties of tomato.
For the ambitious gardener or landscaper with a large planting scheme in mind, the nursery is able to source and supply in quantity,
from a wide range of specialist wholesale nurseries throughout the UK.

The nursery also stocks a wide range of quality composts, grow bags, bark mulch, feeds and fertilisers, terracotta pots, rustic barrels and water
butts, reclaimed railway sleepers, hanging baskets, and decorative aggregates.
From December 1st each year, Christmas trees and seasonal holly and fir wreaths are available.
