REPAIRING A BUST POST

I was given these cells by my brother in law and i am very grateful to his donation towards my RE system. these are lead acid cells and not that much is known about them, my brother in law seems to think they could have been used on or intended for use on a milk float but we are still not sure.

I got 6 of these cells altogether and although heavily sulphated they are accepting a charge all but 1 of them and then i discovered that the positive post was snapped and it needed to undergo surgery.

After draining the cell i cut the top off and here there is only the neg post visible with the pos post still in the top of the cell.

Thats it i simply wired the post with 3 lengths of wire and used self tappers at 3 points along the positive bar inside the cell, although this has reconected the post there still seems to be a problem with this 1 cell. I resealed the cell with liquid nails and this has made a good seal. And finally all wired in series and on charge.
