It is now no longer a requirement to propose a candidate for Exalation at one meeting and ballot at a subsequent meeting. Supreme Grand Chapter have now changed the rules : -

It is now acceptable to propose, ballot and Exalt all on the same evening in the event that a candidate has been found at short notice. It should be noted, however, that the preferred method still remains of proposing at one meeting and balloting at another.
