The alarm onboard the rebel blockade runner makes a different sound.

Most of Aunt Beru's lines are different takes, and possibly a different actress altogether.

"Luke! Luke!"

"Tell uncle if he gets a translator to be sure it speaks Bocce."

Aunt Beru alternates.

"Where are you going?"

"Owen, he can't stay here forever, most of his friends have gone. It means so much to him"

"Luke's just not a farmer, Owen. He has too much of his father in him."

When Luke and Ben come across the slaughtered Jawas, R2-D2 beeps. This sound was inserted into the THX sound mix and also appears on the Special Edition and 2004 DVD.

As the group heads into the cantina, a Cantina Band musical cue can be heard.

The cantina patron known on set as "Snake Head" (known later as Dice Ibegon) makes chirping sounds in the mono mix. A truncated version of this sound appears in the 1993 "THX" sound mix, while the full sound effect can be heard in the Special Edition and 2004 DVD.

When the two stormtroopers walk by Han and Chewbacca in the cantina, Chewie growls. The growl was added to the THX sound mix and also appears on the Special Edition and 2004 DVD.

When searching for the droids, the stormtrooper at Mos Eisley says:

"Alright, check that side of the street. It's secure
Move on to the next one."

Instead of:

"Alright, check this side of the street. The door's 
locked
. Move on to the next one."

Chewie has an extra growl in the mono mix that is not heard in the Dolby Stereo mix.

This growl was incorporated into the 2004 DVD mix but does not appear in the previous Special Edition mix or THX mix.

The chess monsters make more noise and sound more vicious. The 2004 DVD mix is different yet again, incorporating elements from both earlier mixes.

When the Falcon comes out of hyperspace there is a pronounced deceleration sound--a winding down sound effect.
