How many different versions/cuts are there????????????

Here are a few screen shots I have thrown together of the opening of the Fullscreen versions of the Star Wars film just as the Blockade Runner/Tantive IV comes into view.

Check out the positioning and shape of the planet on the left of the screen and the place where the Tantive IV enters the screen. Also marvel at the starfields on the PAL versions.

In truth, this has not really helped me and I am still not fully sure how many different "cuts" there are. I am still missing the US TV Premiere if anyone can help out there.........

1982 NTSC VHS

The planet to the left is just visible.

1982 NTSC Laserdisc

What planet???

1982 PAL VHS

Oval planet.

1982 PAL Laserdisc

Another oval planet. Looks about the same as the 1982 PAL VHS.

1980's ITV PAL broadcast

Planet just visible.

1985 NTSC Laserdisc

Planet just visible. Looks about the same as the 1982 NTSC Laserdisc.

1992 NTSC Laserdisc

Planet just visible. Looks about the same as the 1982 & 1985 NTSC Laserdiscs.

1995 NTSC VHS

The planet is shown in full - a first for a NTSC version but the Tantive IV is nearly off the screen!

1995 PAL VHS

The planet is shown in full - as it was on the 1982 VHS but this time it is round as it should be.

In Conclusion, I make that at least 6 different versions of this shot alone!!!!!!!!
