Famous Fugitives

Name: Jim Roy
Role in Team: Opening bowler (downhill & with wind please skip)
Known as: Royo / Dinky
Date of Birth: 12.10.75
Birthplace: Cardiff (apologies)
Senior Fugitives debut: 1990 v Leyhill Open Prison, Risca Leisure Centre for Mike Thomas’ NFCC 3rd Extras. (4thXI in my book)
Best Performance for club: 7 – 18 v Tondu they say although personally I reckon getting over the 20 Strongbows mark on Boxing Day 1994 (and ending up being told about the war by Jonners Granddad for 4 hours wasn’t bad going either.) Especially as I was aged 19 and didn’t fall asleep.
Favourite Moment in Fugitive career: At aged 15 convincing Rae (eager eyed and vigilant steward of the day) I was in fact 18 and getting on ‘The Bow’. Learning to appeal / politics from Dem was also significant in my development.
Captain / Officer Positions (& Year) I rolled the pitch a lot last year.
Other Cricket Teams played for: St Kilda City C.C.
Cricketing claim-to-fame: Me and Popey played for a touring team from Kent up at Dowlais Top. I got 4 –64 and was told by Norman Drewitt (Chairman) this was respectable. I then pointed out it was 4 overs for 64. Technically I was on tour though.
Favourite other sports: Rugby, Kabadi
Song to walk on to: Anything by Queen
Often quoted as saying: "What time do you want picking up Sarge?"
