The site was started in May 2001 for a laugh - I wanted an excuse to learn HTML and produce a website, so I made some incomplete tabs of songs from the radio and put them up on a poorly designed page. Only now (after 18 months) am I trying to turn it into something worth visiting. So if you think the site sucks, you have a point. But I don't care, so shut up.
The images of guitars were edited from pictures on the manufacturers' sites, all of which I have linked to. Moving the mouse over any of these will reveal its make and model. The logos were modified from FlamingText templates (see below).
The tabs were usually written by listening to the track and experimenting, so they might not always be accurate to what was actually played. They're best understood if you've got the record to hand.
The features were made to be played fingerstyle, so if you're having trouble playing them with a plectrum, try throwing it away.
The tuner was probably the best idea I've had, requiring no dynamic code apart from the
Javascript to open a new window. It's just 11 copies of the same page, containing single-note
MIDI files which play when you click on the link to each one.
Me gear
In case it mattered. I own:
- Gibson Les Paul
- PRS Santana SE
- Fender Roc-Pro amplifier
- Yamaha acoustic (FG-412, pictured right)
- Admira classical
- DeArmond Starfire bass (used to be valuable, now on the Squier range)
...and they're all great. Buy 'em. Links to all the manufacturers are on the links page.
