First Half Term

This homework is intended as an extended piece of research and writing, to be undertaken throughout the term. In addition, homework will be set most weeks by the class teacher on the given night, to be completed by the following lesson. This work will relate to the work being done in lessons at the time. The project work is, therefore, to be seen as extension work to the weekly homework, and not as an alternative. Some tasks involving the project work will be split into smaller parts to enable easier research.
Project title: Create a board game and instruction booklet

Outline of work:
Students should


use the themes of life and death to create a board game
include Muslim or Hindu ideas about birth and death

Second Half Term
Task:
To design and make a Holocaust memorial picture or statue
Outline of work:
Students’ designs should include the following themes:

- Suffering of the people
- Pain of the people
- Anguish of the experience
- Hope for the future
Suggested materials to use:
- Papier-mâché
- Clay
- Cardboard
- Plaster of Paris
Students are able to work in pairs or individually for this task
