Zellam See Ski Trip Friday 11th February 2005

Dear Parent
As you are no doubt aware the 2005 BCC School trip to Zellam See departs shortly.  The Ski Team at school are very excited about it as I am sure is your son or daughter.  To ensure that we have a successful and smooth trip, I am writing to you with the promised final departure details and instructions.

I would be most grateful if you could follow the instructions and given advice to avoid any difficulties from arising.

PASSPORTS/E111
You will find enclosed with this letter an A5 sized brown envelope with your son/ daughter’s name on it.  Please place on it a completed E111 form (stamped by the post office) and passport (if your son or daughter is on the collective passport then disregard this).  This envelope should then be handed into Ms Collins or Mr Medwin week on either
SPENDING MONEY
You will also find a white envelope in the pack with your son/daughter’s name on it.  Please put inside the cash in Euros (small denominations) that your son/daughter will be taking.  £70 worth of Euros will be ample.  This envelope can then also be given to Ms Collins or Mr Medwin.
MEDICATION
If your son/daughter will require ANY medication then this will need to be handed to either Ms Collins or Mr Medwin directly.  The medication will need to contain clear instructions, the sufficient dosage for eight full days and placed inside a clear plastic bag.  When handing it in to myself or Ms Collins you will then be able to give us further instructions if necessary.
DEPARTURE DAY:  FRIDAY, 11TH FEBRUARY
Your son/daughter will need to come to school for a normal school day but can wear their own clothes.  Their luggage can be brought in before school and will be stored in a secure area -please could you attach to it the baggage labels provided.  The students will then complete a normal school day and be ready to depart BCC at 3.30 p.m.  You can then, of course, come and say goodbye to them and take their school books home and hand them their travel bag.  We should then be able to leave BCC at 4.00 p.m.
THE JOURNEY
Clearly, around 20 hours on a coach can be difficult!  To make this journey as comfortable as possible I would ask that the students adhere to this advice.  Students should wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes – e.g. tracksuit bottoms, t-shirts, jumpers.  It is also a very good idea to wear ski-jackets, as this can then make a comfortable duvet during the night.

Students can also bring with them food and drink although they can buy an evening meal on the ferry.  No fizzy drinks should be brought however, or food that is overly messy or is full of too much sugar!  Students can also bring wet-wipes with them in their hand luggage to hopefully freshen them up in the morning.  A small amount of money should also be taken as hand luggage to buy any snacks on the way
