October
2004
Dear Parents/ Guardian.
The Religious Studies Department are leading the Enrichment Day
for the Year 8 students on 18th October. On this date, we are planning
a variety of Islam Awareness activities. As well as consolidating
the knowledge taught this term, this will be useful when examining
themes and issues in Islam throughout the year.
We are proposing to run a variety of activities that the students
will have the chance to participate in. We hope that your son/ daughter
will participate in all of these but this may unfortunately not
be possible due to time constrictions. We will be having the chance
to listen to a visiting speaker who will speak to the students about
how to practise Islam in a non-Muslim country. We will be watching
food being prepared and then tasting it. We will be researching
Islam on the Internet and through other Media prior to a craft activity
to be held later in the day. These activities will be run on rotation
due to the number of students attending.
We would appreciate a voluntary donation towards the cost of running
these activities. We would like to ask for a contribution of £5.00
per child. Any contributions should be returned directly to your
child’s R.S. teacher and attaching the slip below.
Should you have any queries relating to this, please contact me
on the above number.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs
E.A. Warner
