Dear Parents

As part of our ongoing Careers programme, Year 10 students will be attending a lively and informative performance by the theatre group, Crag Rats, on post-16 options – “It’s Your Choice – Live 2004”.

This is to be held in the Lower School Hall on Monday, 15 November at 2.00 p.m.

The overall aim of the show is to ensure that students are assisted in the process of making an informed decision about their future at 16.  More specifically, the theatre group aims to:

• Present to Year 10 pupils all the opportunities available to them, post 16, within the education, training and employment markets.

• Empower Year 10 pupils to take responsibility for their future careers.

• Stress the importance of researching the opportunities and getting advice.

• Reinforce the concept of lifelong learning.

The performance will be followed by a short workshop which explores the interpersonal skills needed to find out more about the opportunities described by the performance and those needed to succeed at interview.
