for 2 days. The festival takes place on the beach and is free. It is a
truly international event with kite flyers from Holland, Germany, Canada,
Belgium and the U.S.A. as well as Great Britain.
In 2001, the events
included Kite Buggy demonstrations, Germany's most popular kite flying
team - "No Limits", Flying works of art from "Air Gallery",
Stunt masterclass with George Mattison, an international mass fly, The
Cody Man Lifting Team attempting to lift a man in the air by kite, Beach
Buggies and Rolf Zimmerman flying his 40 ft seahorse and lobster kites
. There were also sideshows, local & regional kite shops and a host
of street entertainers. There's also a kite workshop where the children
can build their own kites.
It started at 10:00
and lasted until 21:00 with a fantastic firework display on the beach
