IMAGINE!

Hi! Just a quick message to let you know that the second issue of IMAGINE magazine is now available. IMAGINE is Ireland's latest quality writing magazine and it needs submissions!

I MAGINE is a glossy, full-sized magazine, open and accessible to everyone. Each quarterly issue features the best writing, arts, poetry, debate, drama and opinion we can get from around Ireland and the world (and County Waterford, where the publishers, Tallow Writers Group, are based).

Please let all your contacts adult, teenager and child know that we welcome email submissions of poetry, writing, drama, fiction, articles, debate and opinion from anywhere in the world. We also need loads of illustrations, so artists, designers, cartoonists and illustrators are invited to submit material. Just send us an email (images as jpegs, only) with your material embedded no attachments, please.

Were very keen to support young, new and upcoming writers.

The second issue of IMAGINE is full of great stuff: The cover story - three very good looking and talented young actresses are finding stardom. Who are they and how are they doing it? Drama - John Sullivan is the man who wrote Only Fools and Horses, The Two Ronnies and Citizen Smith. He writes exclusively for IMAGINE on how comedy writing works. Photography - The last man to photograph Samuel Beckett tells us about this most interesting of assignments and meeting Beckett in Paris. Never seen photographs, too! Opinion - Breeda Geary is very disappointed with the Catholic Church hierarchy: why do they keep getting things so very wrong? Drama - Toms Roche takes a very funny look at dramatic opportunities in the Macra na Feirme and what it'll take to get our youth back treading the boards. Milk, anyone? Fiction - James Hyde writes about something lurking in the kitchen. Or is it someone? Scary stuff. Margaret Mitchell has a very strong tale of rural life. Sport - Remember the national racing champion, Arkle? David Mansfield does. Poetry - Loads of new poems from around the world. We're also the first magazine in Europe to review the latest book from international US star Billy Collins (with copies of his books to win). Children - We launch the 2nd West Waterford Children's Writing competition AND have a fabulous new book by Grace Wells to give away. Listings - What's on where you are? IMAGINE lets you know about writing and arts festivals, competitions, events and activities in the run up to Christmas.

IMAGINE is available every quarter, with a copy costing EUR5.00, or EUR20.00/12-month subscription in Ireland (EUR30.00 in Europe, EUR35.00 elsewhere) - postage included. If buying individual issues, add EUR4.50 per copy for postage outside Europe, or EUR3.00 per copy in Europe. Postage in Ireland (inc. Ulster) is free.

Published entirely as a non-profit venture, the magazine includes (as well as its writing) loads of illustrations and photographs. If you write, draw, paint, take photographs or make illustrations, the magazine is interested in hearing from you (especially if you live in, or have links to County Waterford).

Cheques and money orders must be drawn on Irish banks only. Sorry, we can't take credit or debit card orders. Please let others know about us - we welcome any thoughts or suggestions for improving the magazine! We look forward to hearing from you.
