The Bristol Literary Lunch Club
Thursday, December 14 We would be delighted if you could join us (host Stan Szecowka and master of ceremonies Tony Rance) at our Christmas Literary Lunch at Jurys Hotel, Prince Street, Bristol, on Thursday, December 14.
Our triple festive treat will feature births, deaths and … Bristol!
- When his partner Kate discovered she was pregnant, award- winning author Andrew Cullen decided to write ‘From Here to Paternity: The Diary of a Pregnant Man’ candidly recording an honest, witty, touching account about what a man really thinks about becoming a dad.
- Hilarious comedy screenwriter Keith R Lindsay, who recently collaborated with John Sullivan (Only Fools and Horses) on the recent BBC hit ‘The Green, Green Grass’ has just published ‘And In The End’, a guide to the world’s weirdest funerals.
- And, Tim Mowl, is co-author of an authoritative new book on Bristol entitled ‘City on the Edge’, which dramatically focuses on its architecture and spectacular cityscapes.
PLEASE note that this annual get-together is being held as a lunch, rather than a dinner this year, due to the over-whelming number of requests from club members to stage a daytime event. We are here to please!
A complimentary glass of wine or fruit juice will await you between noon and 12.30pm.
The festive menu is:
- Fanned Seasonal Melon with seasonal fruits
- Roast Turkey served with Wiltshire Ham, a fresh herb stuffing & cranberry sauce and chef’s selection of market-fresh vegetables and potatoes.
- Vegetarian Option – Roasted Vegetable Pancake served with a tomato and cheese sauce.
- Festive Christmas pudding with a rich brandy sauce
- followed by freshly brewed coffee & tea served with chocolate mints. If you prefer the vegetarian option please indicate when booking.
Also, please mention any special dietary requirements as the hotel staff may not be able to cater for them on the day.
Books will be available (cash or cheques only) and you will be able to get them signed by the authors shortly after the lunch.
Tickets cost just £28 to club members and will go on sale to the general public shortly at £30.
Please send a cheque made payable to Bristol Literary Lunch Club and send it with a stamped address envelope to the address below.
