A cousin in Hastings enclosed this tree in a card to me last Christmas (1999). It was sent to her by another cousin (Colin Antrobus) who I have not met yet. He obtained it from a tenant of his, Pauline Pearson, paulinepearson@homeinchaos.freeserve.co.uk who has done a lot of work with Margaret Edwards, who, I believe is her niece.
How the name Coombs cropped up in conversation I don't know. Thankfully it did.

I received this e-mail from Pauline Pearson which explains how she came upon a lot of the information contained in the tree below. I believe Hilda is in New Zealand.
Dear Hilda,
My apologies for not sending this sooner, but I have only just discovered how to do it, at least I hope I have!
The information that I gave Ron Coombs was all obtained from the records of WESTS' PEDIGREE. These concern a Charity founded in the late 15thC by John and Frances West for their poor descendants. My notes were made on a quick visit to search them in 1983 after my father died. The Coombs family came into line of this pedigree when John Coombs married Sarah Munday (About 1740 probably, I don't have the date) My family came into line when Frances Coombs B1817 to David and Sarah married Charles Douse in 1843. Frances and Charles were my father's grandparents. I don't yet know where they were married, although they were both of Wiltshire stock. But I know they lived in London. I hope to do some research into this soon.
From the Charity Registers I recorded the details of the Pedigree passing down to Thomas Coombs m Mary Noyes and then more details of their issue, together with their Registered Numbers. Because issue were not registered, it does not necessarily mean that there were none ~likewise second marriages.
I have not checked any of these details with either Parish Records or Census Returns, as I do not know where they all lived, and I have been busy checking the Douse kin, which were all in the Bishops Cannings, Alton Barnes and Marlborough areas of WILTSHIRE until they set off for London early in 19th C.

FREDERICK (who may have been more than one generation later but was down
as issue) was No.2302.
