                                                                                                                                Suspension Setup

The parts on the floor are the front and rear sub frames which come separately. First up - panelling.

Back the right way up and the suspension starting to be fitted. still some panelling to do.

Note the rear subframe has been removed. It bolts onto the suspension pickup points. The Diff is a sierra cosworth 2wd. limited slip with a ratio of 3.64:1 with 110mm driveshaft couplings not the 100mm couplings as used on the 4wd. cars.

now we start with the Chassis details

All 4 wheels but no springs!.

This was a test of the minimum ride height that could be obtained with the car sitting on the bump stops.

It turned out to be about 20mm at the front and about 50 mm just in front of the rear wheels. there is more clearance under the engine bay as it is a ground effect car with a larger volume under the rear than the front.

Down on its wheels and ready for the body more or less.

The body has been removed for painting and the roll bar removed for powder coating.

We had rather a lot of problems with gear selection with the Blackbird engine then suddenly it went bang! No gears at all so a new engine and more power.

New Kawasaki ZX12 engine in position.
