24 September 2006: For a long time I have been concerned about the whole principle of Sustrans and the National Cycle Network. You may not agree with all that I say in my critical review Sustrans – Good or Bad? but I hope you'll find it thought-provoking.
21 September 2006: I have added a page on a little-known railway path The Centurion Way from Fishbourne, near Chichester, to Binderton in the South Downs.
21 September 2006: I have updated the Hayling Billy page with additional photographs of this railway path.
17 September 2006: A 300-mile tour through Beautiful East Anglia, including many of its most picturesque and historic places, is now on-line.
1 November 2004: Sustrans has changed the location of its map updates on its websites. I have changed the links on this site to the new locations. In addition, the Sustrans website no longer mentions the stamping card scheme nor is there an up to date list of card stamping points. I assume that the scheme has therefore been dropped.
5 October 2004: The first part of my week's Heritage Tour through East Sussex and Kent, via many of the historic English Heritage and National Trust sites on the way, is now on-line.
4 September 2004: National Cycle Network routes: The Severn & Thames Cycle Route updated to include the route over the downs between Marlborough and Avebury, an update on the route between Avebury and Chippenham, and the alternative route between Devizes and Bradford-on-Avon added.
20 August 2004: A new section added: Cycling Old Railways. This provides links to reports on a selection of various disused railways which have now been turned cycle paths. Newly added is a page on the Castleman Trailway in Hants and Dorset.
26 June 2004: I'm just off for a week's ride through East Sussex and Kent, calling in at many of the historic English Heritage and National Trust sites on the way. Then I'm off across the Gravesend to Tilbury ferry for a week in East Anglia. Full reports will appear as soon as possible.
Coming soon: National Cycle Network routes: Downs & Weald (Brighton-Hastings/Eastbourne-Mayfield).
