Eastern Hampshire has some lovely countryside for cycling, with rolling chalk downs in the north and south, the heathlands in the extreme north-east, the hangers in the east marking the edge of the Weald, and the lovely river valleys of the Itchen, the Meon, and the Wey.
I'd intended that East Hampshire would be the third of my series of Rural Rides guides, but slow sales of the first two, not helped by the difficulty of getting them into the big multiples, plus the competing demands of a job, brought their development to a halt. Now the internet offers the ideal means of getting such material into the public domain, and I will feature one of these rides on this site at a time, changing them over at intervals. So keep coming back to see if there's a new one.
