A visit to Eltham Palace and gardens
Coach leaves Corn Market Hall at 9am

£12 for English Heritage Members, £18 for Civic Society members
£20 for non members.

“Eltham Palace is a unique house combining the finest Art Deco home in England with the remains of a medieval and Tudor royal palace-the boyhood home of Henry VIII. Built for millionaires-the Palace reflects the glamour and allure of the 1930s. The interiors are a show piece of cutting edge design reminiscent of ultra sophisticated ocean-liner style.
• Imagine yourself living in these glamorous surroundings as you wander through the rooms of the house.
• Enter the Great Hall with its magnificent hammer-beam roof, and be transported back to part of the original Tudor Palace
• Enjoy the Courtauld’s own footage of time spent entertaining and living life to the full at Eltham. Catch sight of their pet lemur: Mah-Jongg!
• Find some of the original “mod-cons” including the centralised vacuum cleaner, electric sockets and built in audio system.
• Explore the 19 acres of the beautiful gardens. Cross the moat on London’s oldest working bridge, smell the roses in the sunken rose garden
and admire the extensive rockery installed by Stephen Courtauld to reflect his love of mountains.”
