Bletchly Blue Lagoon

Site Background

This site is a disused clay pit. The MKSAC have added some underwater features.

Facilities

Car Park and bushes. You need to provide your own Dive Marshall and shore cover. More details can be found on the MKSAC website linked above.

Depths & Features

Platforms exist in the lake at various levels, ranging from 1m to a maximum depth of 22m. Many of these platforms are at suitable depths for training and/ or deco stops.

Many underwater features have been added to the lake, such as a bus, a Capri, several boats, and a plane fuselage.

Plenty of Crayfish can be found, and also the odd Perch.

None of the under water features are roped, but the MKSAC can give you a list of compass bearings so that you can plan your waypoints throughout the dive. A good opportunity for practicing navigation techniques!

Visibility

The visibility can be low, due to the silt being kicked up from the bottom, however the visibility can be good if you’re the first in, or avoid the main attractions.

Costs

£3 per diver. Contact MKSAC to arrange a dive here.
