We have included on this page some links to prayer resources from our Partner Churches. Please follow the links and use these resources as best suits you to support and sustain your prayer life. From the Church of England the Common Worship site offers ‘Morning’ and ‘Evening’ Prayer in the Anglican tradition. These are updated every day and provide a regular pattern for personal or shared prayer. ‘Daily Prayer provided by the official Church of England website From the Baptist Union there are a range of resources offered by following the link ‘What is prayer’ The Methodist Church also offers good resources and support for prayer. Go first to the page ‘Open to God’ Some of us make regular use of the ‘Daily Watchwords’ from the Moravian Church. These offer both short texts from the Old and New Testament for each day accompanied by some words from the hymns. Accompanying this they also offer some selections from the Bible allowing a comprehensive reading over two years. In the Moravian Church’s website go to ‘Site Index’ at the top right, select and click on ‘Daily Watchwords’ then select the month and day you need. The United Reformed Church suggests the ecumenical site ‘reJesus’ which has some wonderful resources including forms of daily prayer throughout the day and the opportunity to light a candle and post a prayer. If you would wish to pray for Creation there is a particular season commended by the Churches which runs from 1st September to the Feast of St Francis on 4th October each year. There are prayer resources for this and many other themes on the CTBI website which can be used during this time or throught the year. Just go to their page ‘Time for Creation, The oremus website has a huge range of resources. One of the best is the bible site where it is possible to look up any Bible reference or passage online in the NRSV or King James versions. If you like to take a look at the readings for the main Sunday services the texts of these are available online from the Vanderbilt Divinity Library. These are from the Revised Common Lectionary which we normally use at Holy Family. |
