IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN. The 8th day of September in the year of our lord god a thousand five hundreth fifty and seven I George Bessewicke of normanton on Soar in the countye of Notts husbandman being feynte in body and whole in mynde and of good remembrance doo make this my last will and testament as herafter foloweth first

I bequyeth my souelle to god almyghte and be ladye Sinte marye and to all the blessed of heaven and my bodye to be buried in the churche yard of normanton  aforesaid     Item I bequyeth to the said churche before said normanton ijs iijd 

Item I bequyeth to my cossen Thomas Besswicke  vid  

Item I bequyeth to Jane Besswicke my cossen iijs  iiijd  

Item I bequyeth to Elizabeth Besswicke  iijs  ijd

Item I bequyeth to Thomas Tomsonne and Henry Sore too eyther of them viijd  

Item I will that all my goods shall be divided into three pts of the whiche according to the ????    I bequyeth one pte to Elizabeth my wyfe the second pte to Phillip my sonne and the third pte to Moris and Richard my sonnes (my???. and charges?.. the same and all my debts paid of the whole) Also I make Elizabeth my wife and Phillip my sonne executors they to order and dispose and fullfyll this my last will and testament   Also I make Thomas Tomsonne and Henry Sore supervisors of this my said testament and will   This being wytnesess John Stuart Clarke   Thomas Tomsonne Henry Sore and Paule Hathewaye
