Heritage Open Day 2005 Heritage Open Days is a chance for people to explore thousands of buildings and places across England which are usually closed to the public or charge for admission. St Paul's is part of this operation and will be open between 10:00am and 5:00pm on Saturday 10th September. There will be tours of the Tower every hour from 11:00am to 4:00pm, displays of old photographs and displays of Artefacts and Vestments. The Parish Registers will be available for viewing during the day. Refreshments will be available in the Church Hall throughout the day. Books and Leaflets about the History and Architecture of the Church will be available with Guides on hand to answer any questions. | |||||||||

Remembrance Day and Confirmation 2005 | ||

On November 13th 2005 St Paul's took an active part in the annual Remembrance Service at Sale Town Hall with the Vicar leading the Service and the Choir processing to and from the Church and assisting with the singing. In the evening the Bishop of Chester, The Right Reverend Dr Peter Forster, presided over a Confirmation Service at St Paul's for candidates from both St Paul's and St Anne's Churches in Sale. The Thursday Singers | ||||||
On Nov 26th 2005 St Paul's hosted the eighth Youth in Concert event featuring the Trafford Youth Concert Band and the Thursday Singers from Manchester Grammar School, Manchester High School and Withington Girl's School. A good audience was treated to a varied programme ranging from a musical evocation of the trials of Stephenson's Rocket to spirituals and carols from the Choir. The concert ended with a rousing rendering of Hollywood show tunes. The picture above shows the event in full swing. | ||||||

Archdeacon's Visitation 2005 The annual Archdeacon's visitation was held at Oughtrington Parish Church on May 17th and the photo right shows our two Churchwardens signing in | ||||
Bowls Match 2005 The annual bowls match was held at the usual venue at Navigation Station on May 23rd. It was a beautiful evening and 12 members took part in the competition. Four preliminary groups of three players each played 7 ends in pairs to determine the four semi-finalists. The semi finalists were Roger, Alan, Zack and David. Alan and David met in the final with David emerging as the winner. The photo shows David in full flow and showing off the trophy. Below this is a shot of the final and the Chairman presenting Alan, last year's winner, with the runners-up trophy. | ||||
