Vix
|
A Gaulish priestess of Châtillion-sur-Seine, near Burgundy, who was murdered in the early centuries BC. The night after she had been buried Vix rose from her grave to slay those who had murdered her, before vanishing from the eyes of the world again.
Vix is supposed to spend much of her time now in torpor, but when she rises from her tomb it is said the phase of the moon will determine what she will do, and what she will look like.
On a new moon, the mythic priestess once again walks the streets in all her ancient finery, whispering secrets to the ears of those that will listen. On a half moon Vix is said to appear as a hag who selects a victim and sets them a task, if they fail in the task their
life will be forfet, and on a full moon she is a bestial creature of rage and fury, tearing through the countryside with the power and speed of a demon.
Two attempts have been made to unearth Vix from her tomb to destroy her, the first group found that as they started to dig the ground became hard as stone, and their tools became dulled within moments of digging.
The second attempt had even less success, a Tremere attempted to use magic to split the earth open to reveal the princesses' tomb, part-way through his ritual blood-red vines sprang from the earth all around him and dragged him into the dirt, never to be seen again.
