False Priest
Quote
"And the Lord said; drink of this wine - it is my blood."
Prelude
You were a young farm worker, happy in your beliefs of the old ways, Your village was too far out the way for the church to take any interest in it. Or so you thought. One day a priest arrived and within a week the village had gone mad, people had been burned for witchcraft, huts were wrecked, families ruined. But for some reason the people forgot their troubles and embraced wholeheartedly these new ideas, this new god and the others. You didn't - you continued, carefully, to honour those that kept the harvest safe, the winters mild and the crops growing. One full moon when you were blessing your crops a figure came out of the trees; you thought it was the end, and that you'd be dead the next day when the priest was told of what you did. But the stranger gave you a gift, she brought you into clan Lhiannan, and explained all that it stood for. The old ways, the real ways. You knew what to do.
That night you killed the priest, took his clothes and buried his body; the village was in turmoil the next evening when you returned, and proclaimed you'd had a holy vision from the Lord, your new found powers helped you convince the villagers and now, you are their priest. You preach the word of the Lord, however, the lessons you teach are stories from the old ways, veiled in the gospels of the Bible; the villagers follow you now, and the traditions are surviving.
Concept
With the church everywhere, you have decided to work from within, to corrupt the
very people and religion that you perceive to be responsible for the fall of your
clan. Your new powers will help you infiltrate, but your nature is obvious to those
who have an eye for such things. You must tread very carefully.
Roleplaying Tips
Speak with conviction, bend the words of the Bible to your own end; so that they better represent your own beliefs and ways. Be careful around others of the church but work to bring them to work as you do, the only way to restore the old is to bring it into the minds of the church and its leaders so that they will spread the word as you do.
