She paused, her eyes turning upward, towards the full
moon that hung silently above us, like a giant eye.
Years passed and fewer and fewer of us remembered the message of
the mother as man grew stronger, and we fed of him. Empires rose and fell,
and man talked to new gods, to new ideas and made war.
Then, we lived from the great northern mountains and lochs of Scotland
to the east, down through Italy, into Greece and more. It was in these
times the other clans arose, products of those who were shamefully ignorant
of their heritage, those who worked to their own agendas, not towards the
restoration of the way that was before. Her eyes looked into mine - and
I could not move; held like a mouse before a snake.
It was in these times, she continued, that the so-called Jyhad began;
as each clan fought now, not for the work of the mother, not even for its
idea of her - but for their own tasks and work. War split us too, we became
a clan more concerned with our own survival, great empires arose; controlled
by these clans, to stamp their mark on the world. The Greeks, the Romans
and the Christians; they sought us out as they moved, they hunted and killed,
until now.
Now? I asked.
Now, now we are few, I know no other Lhiannan, my Sire, was lost
when the Icini were defeated by the Romans, and the Ventrue. We three are
alone, and should we ever find others of our clan, beyond recognition of
our heritage we can hope for nothing.
I looked over to where the last of our Sabbat slept, she was not
of the blood yet, but soon, with the turning of the moon, would be. |

Triplism
The number three is highly significant to the Lhiannan, like the ancient cultures they were created from.
As time has separated the original 'message' of the Crone from her descendants three different idologies have emerged in the Lhiannan bloodline, each representing one of the Crone's characteristics; The warrior, the priestess and the farmer.
The actions and direction of each sabbat will be focused around this ideal, the friction between rival sabbats perceived by the other clans is the rivalry between sabbats of different focuses, the only friction between similarly aligned sabbats will be the question of which is the dominant faction. This is either settled by combat (in the case of a warrior sabbat) divination (in the case of a priest sabbat) or by survival skills. (for farmer sabbats).
Sabbats of differant lines usually either fight or ignore each other, the warrior line prefering to fight, the farmer line perfering to leave. Priest line will act as a diviniation decrees.
