The time of myths
Faint flames crackled and hissed in the dying embers of the fire as
I sat near the matron of our sabbat, the taste of her blood still fresh
in my mouth.
"Tell me, my mother, tell me of the times before."
The ancient vampires mouth cracked in a smile, the only wetness
on her lips was the red stain of my blood. She paused a moment, then spoke;
"Before the rise of the Roman empire, before Christianity and before
a time when countries recognised themselves was the time of myths.
It was a time of dreams, of spirits and magic. And we, the children
of the crone, created of her blood were the ones who walked the lands and
named the plants, trees and animals.
We were stronger then and the crones purpose strong with us, we
were birthed as we were, of her - and we could birth of ourselves, and
give our daughters her gift.
But as time passed we spread out, explored the lands she had given
for us to live in, we became fragmented, and through the rise of man, the
tales of the mother became distorted and twisted; her legends became woven
with the lies, legends and tales of man, and the names of their chieftains.
And so we fell. We fell from the grace of the mother, her name had
been corrupted by the deeds of man and we were cast down to man, no longer
would we bare our daughters, gifted with her blood but we would pass her
gift on, with our blood, using the life of man, the very ones who had clouded
our minds. And on blood we would feed, the blood of those who had forgotten
the mother. |

The Crone
The mysterious figure known only as 'The crone' is universially acknowledged
by all Lhiannan to be the founder of their clan; and in some cases of all
vampires. Little is known of the Crone as legends and myths of her vary
widely between sabats, but parallels between the Crone and Lileth are certainly
obvious for anyone who takes the time to try and unravel the mysteries
of the Lhiannan bloodline.
The crone has been seen in a dozen countries, numerous dreams and
is worshipped directly as the the Morrigan, Danu, Rhiannon, Deae Matres,
Matronae and many others.
Who or what she truely is depends on which Lhiannan or story you
listen to, due to their fragmented religion. |
The Gauls claim that they are all descended from Dis Pater;
they say this is the tradition handed down to them from the druids.
