Hello, my name is Robert Alan Shields, most people know me as "Knocker", living in Romford, Essex, England. I used to be a racing cyclist until 1991 when in the later part of the year I was diagnosed as having a serious heart problem which forced me to stop racing, On January the 28th 1992 I had triple by-pass surgery,  which helped my problem but did not cure it. This caused me to retire from work at (52) and the sport I loved so much. I am still involved with the sport of cycle racing and I can ride my bike but only for pleasure, mainly at the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority's purpose built cycle circuit called Eastway, which sadly has now closed (on 11th November 2006) and demolished to make way for the OLYMPICS of 2012, I will be 68 as of the 20th of December 2009 and still enjoy riding my bike.
