The HMSO training manual ‘Roadcraft’ continues to be used as the basis for police driving schools and many other types of driving courses. First published in 1936, it has been updated several times over the years. A major change was made in October 1994 following consultations with police driving schools and a wide range of motoring and safety organisations. As a result, its content and presentation were extensively reviewed and revised to reflect the demands of modern driving and road conditions. It is a most valuable text for anyone wishing to improve and extend their driving skills and techniques and is the definitive text upon which most other driving textbooks are based. The 1994 revision also brought in more modern presentation of essential material with easy to read text and graphics.
