Better Driving Course

History...

Better Driving Courses have been around for the past 35 years. Started by the Traffic Division of Sussex Police, they have proved very popular with drivers of all ages and abilities wishing to improve or extend their driving skills. Due to increasing demands on manpower and the need to prioritise its workload, Sussex Police have progressively handed over the responsibility for the administration of the courses, and more recently, the presentation of the classroom sessions, to local groups of the IAM.

The content and subject matter of the courses, however, remain essentially the same. The courses continue to be based on ‘Roadcraft’, while the speakers involved are trained and experienced advanced drivers with teaching or traffic police background.
