An area about one mile north of the River Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland, now known as Royston, bordered roughly by Castle Street in the west, Charles Street in the north, Blochairn Road in the east and Roystonhill in the north....but possibly extending a little more.

In early 1996, a letter appeared in the
Glasgow Evening Times indicating that the Garngad Heritage Group was planning to publish a book in 1997 tracing the history of the Garngad area and that the Group was anxious to collect photographs, local stories and any other relevant information. The book has now been published and consists mainly of photographic materials with captions.
Apparently, until late only three persons had submitted stories of anecdotal material viz:-
