Right hand Improvisation Blues 3
Blues in F
Here is a third 12 bar blues improvisation with the following chord sequence:-
/F7 / Bb7 / F7 / F7 / Bb7 / Bb7 / F7 / D7 / Gm7 / C7 /
/F7 D7 / G7 C7 /
In this instance the example is designed to show how to use chromatic passing notes to move from one chord to another. ( The previous example used chromatic notes only while the current chord was played).
Now we use chromatic notes at the chord change to make smooth progress from one chord to another. For instance near the end of bar one we are moving from F7 towards Bb7 in the next bar. The C on the last beat is a chord note of F7. The next note Db doesn't belong to either chord but is moving chromatically from the C (in F7) to the D (in Bb7). The end of of bar 10 and 11 have a similar progression.
Swing feel.
